In order to compile a SAM, DB/Assist must provide information about the SAM and each statement in it to the DB2 Precompiler. DB/Assist supplies this information by using default values for the following:

•SAM-wide bind file options

•SAM-wide code generation options

•Statement-specific code generation options

In most cases, you can use the default values for these options when compiling a SAM However, if you want to use non-default values for these options, you can set the options that meet your needs by completing one or more of the following dialog boxes:

•Bind Options dialog box

•Code Generation Options dialog box

•Code Generation - Statement Options dialog box

Setting Compile Options describes the DB/Assist compile options and their default values, and explains how to set these options if necessary.
