ESL Documentation

Select this option to open a new ESL SQL Wizard project.

If the Database type is IBM's DB2, as you logon to the database you will first need to select it:

OpenDatabase

Having selected the Database Type, you will need to logon to the Server using your credentials, which you will have been assigned by your Database Administrator. The logon dialog will depend on the database type:

IBM's DB2 you will logon to the database:
IBMDB2Logon

With the IBM DB2 logon, you need to specify the table qualifier, that is, the owner of the tables to be processed.

If using the ODBC interface, then you will need to login to a Datasource using the following dialog:

DataSourceLogin

With the ODBC login, a drop-down list of datasource name is provided.

All other database types, you will login to the server:
DatabaseServerLogin

The details you enter into the above dialogs will be saved in the registry, to save you re-entering the information each time you start a SQL Wizard session. If there is a security issue saving passwords in the registry, this will only be saved when the "Save Password" is selected.

When you have logged into a server or datasource, you may have to select the database you wish to access during the SQL Wizard session, if this applicable to the DBMS selected:

OpenDatabaseV2
