Use these menu choices to create, maintain, and compile SQL Access Modules (SAMs).

New

Creates a new SAM.

 

Open

Opens an existing SAM.

 

Settings

Lets you view or change the database and description associated with a SAM.

 

Verify

Verifies all SAM statements with DB2.

 

Compile

Verifies all SAM statements with DB2, compiles generated ESL action routines into a specified file, creates the SAM bind file, and creates the database access package (if checked in the Bind Options dialog box).

 

View log

Displays the most recent DB/Assist log.

 

Options>Bind

Lets you set options that control the creation of a bind file or package.

 

Options>Code generation

Lets you:

1.specify an action to be taken when certain SQL exception conditions are encountered, or

2.add the SAM name to all action routines.

 

Save

Saves the current SAM to disk.

 

Save as

Saves the current SAM to disk with a new name.

 

Create variable file

Creates a file with all the variable definitions used in the SAM.

 

Exit

Exits DB/Assist.
