Pastes the object or group of objects which are currently on the Layout Editor's clipboard into the currently selected object.

To paste an object or objects

1.Select an object or group of objects.

2.On the Edit menu or on the pop-up menu for the object, click Cut or Copy.

3.Select the object which will be the parent of the pasted objects.

4.On the Edit menu or on the pop-up menu for the object, click Paste.

Tips

If the object which is selected in the Screen Editor cannot be the parent of the object(s) on the Layout Editor's clipboard,  Paste will not be available on the Edit menu or pop-up menu for the object.

If you selected Copy to add an object to the clipboard, the Layout Editor will assign a new name to the object when you paste it back into the Screen Editor.  Any insert statements or comments associated with the object will not be pasted.

If you selected Cut to add an object to the clipboard, the Layout Editor will retain the name of the object and any insert statements and comments when you paste it back into the Screen Editor.  However, if you paste the object again, the Layout Editor will assign a new name to the pasted object and will not paste any insert statements and comments associated with the object.
