The tool bar is a set of buttons that perform some of the same operations as items in the menu bar. The buttons in the tool bar contain small pictures or icons that you can select with the mouse. You can also make the tool bar invisible. When the tool bar is present, it appears just below the menu bar.

There are five groupings of buttons in the tool bar. Each group of buttons corresponds to some choices from one pulldown on the menu bar.

Use this command to display and hide the Toolbar, which includes buttons for some of the most common commands in QuikStep, such as File Open.

A check mark appears next to the menu item when the Toolbar is displayed - the buttons shown depend on the action that you are carrying out.

When you are viewing source or defining a project it might look like this;

When you are debugging, it may look like this;

When you are debugging, the run and step options are available, but the compile options are not.

The toolbar is displayed across the top of the application window, below the menu bar.

To hide or display the Toolbar, choose Toolbar from the View menu (ALT, V, T).
