The status bar is a window that contains information about the state of QuikStep.  The left part of the window displays one-line help messages about operations you select from the menu bar, and messages indicating the results of operations performed in QuikStep.  The five indented panes to the right contain more specific information and are described in the following paragraph. Like the tool bar, the status bar can be made invisible. The status bar appears at the bottom of the main window.

StatusBar

The status bar is displayed at the bottom of the QuikStep window.  

To display or hide the status bar, use the Status Bar command in the View menu.

The left area of the status bar describes actions of menu items as you use the arrow keys to navigate through menus.  This area similarly shows messages that describe the actions of toolbar buttons as you depress them, before releasing them.  If after viewing the description of the toolbar button command you wish not to execute the command, then move the mouse off the toolbar button before releasing it.

The right areas of the status bar indicate which of the following keys are latched down:

Indicator

Description

CAP

Caps Lock is toggled on.

NUM

Num Lock is toggled on.

SCRL

Scroll Lock key is toggled on.

Line No.

Line number at the top of the active file display.

Line No.

Total number of lines in active file.
