ESL Documentation

After you create a new SQL statement (as described in Creating a New SQL Statement) or open an existing SQL statement (as described in Opening an Existing SQL Statement), you can build or modify its syntax. There are three methods for building a SQL statement in DB/Assist:

Import the statement from the clipboard or from a file.

Build the statement manually by typing it in the SQL Editor window.

Build the statement visually by completing the appropriate DB/Assist statement construction dialog boxes.

The following topics describe these methods and the types of SQL statements that you can build with each.
